Pushing Hands, also called feeling, sensing or hitting hands, is a partner exercise of Tai Chi. The workshop title „sensing hands“ underlines the yin (soft) aspect in training. The workshop will thus follow the questions of „how to develop a soft approach“ and „how to answer to pressure with softness“. This approach will also touch upon many valuable connections to Tai Chi, Qigong and also daily life in general.
„Sensing“: Listening and Speaking with our Hands
The focus of the single exercises will be on yielding, a soft response to pressure and stress. Giving way while protecting ourselves, we will practice our listening skills (ting jin).
And last, but not least: To be a good partner is a key aspect of Pushing Hands! We will therefore work on a strong, coordinated and focused Push, otherwise known as „speaking clearly“, ie with intention (yi).

This 2-day workshop will provide an introduction to Push Hands for beginners. You are also welcome to join us with prior experience in Tai Chi, Qigong or partner work.
