In the 4 postures as a solo exercise, we focus on slow execution and mindful movement.
Underlining the soft, defensive aspect of the training, we always start with the two yielding movements, followed by the two actions. Thus, my first movement is a response to a push to my left shoulder.
My mental focus during this solo meditation is on my (imaginary) partner. I also, from time to time pay, special attention to the weight shift between yielding (weight to back leg) and expanding (weight back to front leg).
