Tai Chi Application Single Whip, part I – Video

Today’s Tai Chi posture is single whip, first part. The application can represent a

throw.

✅🧘Tip for form practice:

Add some intention and meaning to your meditative form by visualizing (and executing) a slow

picking up motion with both hands, as if you were picking up a wet piece of laundry to bring it outside to dry.

everytime you make this movement in your form.

Remember: #formfollowsfunction

✅🥊 Tip for practicing application:

Your partner should be positioned in front of you, coming in with some determination to push you away.

You begin with a neutralising movement, making contact with your hands.

Using only your left hip joint to turn whilst expanding against the floor allows you to change your movement into a throw.
