ETIQUETTE – Tai Chi Sword 44

The interview with Faye Yip part 13 - Future plans

While fencing in a space with other fencers, if we see our O is backing into someone, or someone is moving into our O, we must stop and throw our hands up. This will indicate to them that they should stop moving, and avoid a collision.

When the O achieves a cut or thrust to us of any kind, we must acknowledge it by touching that place (the French “touché”). This is a courtesy and keeps everyone honest.
